Concept
The athletic field was taken on the adjacent Mano Park side and positioned as the central space of the district. The existing canary palms and Fuji trees were preserved to create an expansive urban space that fosters the affection of the citizens. In order to make effective use of the school site and to secure a large athletic field, administrative offices, classrooms, an indoor gymnasium, and a rooftop pool are arranged in a three-dimensional structure. While maintaining the characteristic pillar shape of the existing school building, a design reminiscent of the vast ocean was adopted inside and out to create an expansive space. The approach connecting the east and west roads leads students and staff commuting from both directions to the school building. The school's educational goal, “Like Plum Blossoms,” which was inspired by a traditional Japanese proverb, is used in the school emblem, accent colors, and various motifs to enhance the school's identity and create an educational environment that will be remembered for a long time. The wall of the entrance hall is decorated with a model of the entire district, which embodies the school's commitment to the community.
