Concept
The design won the first prize among 441 participants in the nation wide competition for this museum. Simple site plan with symmetrical form, materials and details give this building distinctive character and dignity and these elements expresse a spirit of the great painter Takanori Oguiss. Based on a concept that is to create " art sanctuary ", soruound environment, the art museum and another museum which will be constructed in the future are connected and produce a " village network" which enhance the place as a symbol of culture in Inazawa city. This art museum is designed as a core of city planning so that picturesque city with plenty of trees is realized.
