The project site has been converted from a vacant lot where a coal mine shaft used to be. The place is between characteristic mountains, Mt. Kotohira and Mt. hase, and the town area spread over to the north. Hiroki Oda Art Museum and Local History Center are located next to a park in order to create a tasteful approach to get excited visitors' interest and imagination. Peace Memorial and Library are located close to the front road for people to feel free to drop by. Art Museum and Local History Center are combined with a central entrance hall for various uses so that administrative functions are integrated without loosing their dentities. The library has a large dome atrium with extensive openings as a centripetal character for information base, and which provide spacious atmosphere as a public library.
