Concept
The Kyushu University (Ito) Indoor Swimming Pool was planned as a facility to keep students and teachers physically and mentally healthy so that they can perform to their individual abilities and personalities. The indoor pool, built using the pilotis portion of the existing RC gymnasium, is air-conditioned and heated, and has wheelchair-accessible pathways and separate multipurpose restrooms for men and women, making it accessible to all at all times.
