Concept
Nishi Waseda Jr. High School is located southwest of the crossroad of Meiji Dori and Suwa Dori, near Waseda University Department of Science and Engineering, Gakushuin Women’s College, and Toyama High School in Bunkyouku. We placed the pool, indoor field, classrooms, and special activities building on the north side of the lot, and secured room for a large field on the south side while preserving the existent trees. We adopted RC-thick-wall-floor structure, which have no post or beam, to make it an open and bright space, and made it an eco-friendly school by adopting double glass and external thermal insulation methods.
