Concept

This building is one of three projects in Japan where the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has conducted a BIM trial. By utilizing BIM, we studied volumes, etc. by modeling the surrounding residential areas. BIM also enabled us to share awareness of the project with the client, confirm the delivery of the structure and facilities in 3D, and calculate the quantity of the building frame, all of which enabled us to visualize the project from the initial design stage, thereby enhancing the quality and accuracy of the design. In accordance with the "Law Concerning the Promotion of the Use of Timber in Public Buildings" timber is used both inside and outside. The main staircase leading from the entrance hall to the upper floors is designed to create a continuous open space by utilizing the "Evacuation Safety Verification Method (Whole Building Evacuation)."
