Concept
Shin'asahi Town Hall is in a place of scenic beauty surrounded by rural scene with the Lake Biwa in the east and Hira Mountains in the west. Earth color is used for the exterior walls as a base, and sheet copper roofing is adopted since the material becomes harmonized with the scenery as time goes by. Natural light from skylights is led also to the first floor through glass boxes, to say nothing of to central corridor on the second floor. Lighting environment which meets the space needs enables to create active space and calm and gentle atmosphere.
